Todd Simison of TS Dock & Lifts

Todd Simison of TS Dock & Lifts

Todd Simison, the 'TS' of TS Dock and Lift of Detroit Lakes, MN, recalls assembling ShoreStation lifts when he was just 14 years old. "I put together a lot of the original steel lifts for my dad who was in the ShoreStation business," said Simison. "I come from a family who has passionately sold ShoreStation docks and lifts."

Simison’s experience and knowledge of the business has grown with our product line. His father opened Simison Marine, a full recreational powersports business, in 1978 where Todd first assembled SS1682s, SS2098s, and SS3698s. "I remember when ShoreStation vertical lifts were introduced in the mid-80s,” said Simison. "Some of those lifts are still out there.”

TS Dock and Lift was founded in 1995. Serving Pelican Lake, Detroit Lake, and Lake Ottertail, TS Dock and Lift installs nearly 450 ShoreStation docks and lifts in a thirty mile radius. "I’ve enjoyed seeing the revitalization of the hydraulic lift lineup,” stated Simison who is sole owner of the business. "I still have flawless operation of the SSV70132HYD that I’ve used since the mid-1990s.”

One of the reasons TS Dock and Lift is successful is that Simison, as a user of marine products, understands his customers. "I trust my hydraulic lift to connect me to the water with my pontoon and ski boats fast and flawlessly. I want to share this experience with my customers.”

As part of sharing the lifestyle, Simison has a dedicated showroom for ShoreStation products. Prospective buyers can see, touch and operate ShoreStation hydraulic, electric, and manual winch as well as walk on our Classic and ShoreBridge Docks complete with accessories like the EON bench, protective bumpers, and dock ladder.

TS also showcases the latest innovation to lakefront lift living: the ShoreStation ShoreScreen, a retractable mesh curtain that protects your boat while quietly operating with the push of a button.

"We encourage prospective buyers to interact with the lifts and docks,” stated Simison. "We want them to experience how quickly the ShoreStation hydraulic lift moors their ski boat in unsettling weather. It’s important that grandparents know how stable the A-frame stance of the ShoreStation dock is when their grandkids are sharing a day at the lake.” Throughout the showroom, pictures of customers’ waterfront layouts adorn the walls, showing the good life.

Fall is upon us, and TS Dock and lift crews have been faithfully serving their area lakes’ customers with lift and dock removals. Simison’s office staff will be pulling out work orders noting when customers want their ShoreStations removed and stored for the coming cold weather.

"I’m looking forward to showing ShoreStations when the snow flies,” stated Simison. "I’ll happily show next year’s customers the ShoreStation life in the comfort of our showroom. We’ll be sure to keep some of this summer’s lakeshore breeze to conjure up lakefront memories for seasons to come.”
